About the role
Oysterweb UK is looking for a multidisciplinary designer who can turn technical products and ideas into confident, accessible visual communication. The work spans static graphics and motion for web pages, campaigns, product education, customer communications, and social channels.
This role suits a designer with strong foundations in typography, layout, brand consistency, animation, and editing. You should be comfortable developing an idea from brief and storyboard through to polished, correctly exported assets.
What you will do
- Create on-brand digital graphics for websites, service launches, campaigns, customer communications, presentations, and social content.
- Plan and produce motion graphics, short explainers, animated product demonstrations, and edited video content.
- Translate hosting and infrastructure concepts into visual stories that are clear to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Develop concepts, moodboards, storyboards, style frames, and prototypes before moving into full production.
- Prepare responsive assets in appropriate formats, dimensions, frame rates, compression levels, and accessible variants.
- Maintain consistent use of the Oysterweb identity while extending layouts and motion treatments for new requirements.
- Collaborate with technical and commercial colleagues, respond constructively to feedback, and manage revisions against agreed briefs.
- Organise source files, licensed materials, exports, and handover notes so work can be found and reused safely.
What you will bring
- A strong portfolio or showreel demonstrating graphic design and motion work, including examples that explain products, services, or complex ideas.
- Professional command of typography, hierarchy, composition, colour, image treatment, and brand systems.
- Practical experience with professional design, animation, and editing tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Affinity, DaVinci Resolve, or comparable software.
- An understanding of animation principles, pacing, transitions, sound-aware editing, and platform-specific delivery requirements.
- The ability to interpret a brief, ask useful questions, estimate work, and deliver accurate files to deadline.
- Careful attention to copyright, licensing, customer confidentiality, accessibility, and brand integrity.
Useful additional experience
- Experience designing for cloud services, software, technology, B2B, or other information-rich products.
- Working knowledge of responsive web design, HTML/CSS constraints, Lottie, SVG animation, or lightweight web motion.
- Experience with illustration, icon systems, screen recording, audio cleanup, colour grading, or basic 3D workflows.
- Confidence presenting creative reasoning and adapting a concept across several channels without losing consistency.
Working at Oysterweb UK
You will help shape how customers understand Oysterweb UK's services while working within the established brand rather than replacing it. The role balances creative exploration with disciplined production, clear file management, and close attention to the accuracy of technical content.
The specific working arrangement and any service-cover rota will be discussed during the hiring process and confirmed before an offer is accepted.
